The 'Book of Homilies' are thirty-three sermons developing the reformed doctrines of the Church of England. Homilies were first published during Edward VI's reign, before being reprinted during Elizabeth I's reign.

Rebacked, retaining the original calf boards, and with endpapers renewed. Light rubbing to boards, otherwise externally excellent. Armorial bookplate to front pastedown. Inscription to recto of a front blank. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned due to paper type, with instances of spotting throughout. Tide marks to tail of gutter throughout the work. Lacking leaves N2-4, and M1-3
