What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Leather Binding, Very Scarce
The first edition of this very scarce work.
In the original French.
An interesting traise on devotion by the French Protestant Pierre Jurieu. An important piece of devotional literature, in which the author discusses the nature and effects of devotion, the sources of undevotion, and the aids and counsels to assist in devotion.
The publication of this work led to his being appointed as the professor of theology and Hebrew at Sedan.
Jurieu wrote a number of controversial works during his life, though he also did much to help those who suffered by the revocation of the Edict of Nantes.
