Description

Early Edition, Rebound

An early edition of this work, rebound in a cloth binding with renewed end papers. Claude Lancelot (c1615-1695) was a French Jansenist monk and grammarian. In this work, he provides a guide to the principles of the Latin language, explaining genders, nouns, pronouns, conjugations of verbs, and syntax, among other useful information. He includes an alphabetically arranged table of words translated from Latin to French.

Condition

Rebound in a cloth binding. Externally very smart. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned with tidemarks throughout. Tidemarks have faded some of the lettering to pages 3, 5, 15, 19, 20, 21, 23, 58 and 59; in some places the lettering has been handwritten to replace the faded lettering. Loss to pages 35 and 51, not affecting the text.
