A scarce imprint of the notable Scaligeri edtion of Aristophanis' comedies, without the 56 page fragments section to the rear of the work and with the 'In Victa Concordia' printer's device to the title page.
Contains both Greek and Latin translations of the included works.
Signatures run *12, A-Z12, a-q12. Duodecimo.
This edition is notable as containing notes by French scholar Joseph Scaliger. Published posthumously, the notes are based on two manuscripts owned by Scaliger and found after his death. It is considered a significant publication in the study of classical Greek drama and offered a critical edition and translation of the work for scholars.

In full contemporary vellum. Externally smart, with marks to the vellum as would be expected. Bookplate to front paste down. Contemporary ink inscriptions to preliminaries. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with just marginal age toning. Extremity of title page has been excised.
