Illustrated with an engraving to the title page. 

Theodore Beza's [Theodore Beze] important ecclesiastical history, being one of the most prominent works on the history of the Protestant Church from this era, and a valuable resource on the reformed church in the sixteenth century. The work, while attributed to Beza, is believed by many to actually be the work of Simon Goulart, who worked alongside Beza and took over his role after his death. 

Written in the original French. 

The register runs as; A- Aviii, A-Zviii, AA-HHviii,[blanks], IIii-ZZviii, AAA- FFFviii, GGG-GGGii, HHHi-HHHviii, III. Collated, lacking IIi.

Condition

Bound in full contemporary calf. Endpapers and blanks renewed. Externally, staining to the spine and extremities, with marks to the boards, and light wear to the extremities, with a small label to the rear of the spine and a small hole to the head. Front hinge weak, bookplate to rear pastedown. Front free endpaper and blanks disbound but present. Internally, pp 81-96 tender, but generally firm, with generally bright and clean pages with age toning and marks to the title and the odd page, and tidemarks. closely cropped to the head of the pages.
